What a beautiful day

What a beautiful day! I’m sitting on a little wooden bench looking out upon a green paddock with a oak tree growing in the middle and the colours and sounds of Summer are fading fast. With effortless precision we are moving into a new season. The wind has started to whip the leaves of the trees nearby, bringing with it the rustle of Autumn sounds and there’s a growing chill in the air.

It’s surprising how quickly time can go by, just being busy with life. I remember when I was about 14 and I couldn’t wait to leave school as I just didn’t enjoy it. The last year went by achingly slow, so I did what I could to get out of going or just going in for my mark and doing something else that at the time deemed more interesting.

Maybe time is relative to enjoyment and contentment. The things that we enjoy leading us to our main path in life: our purpose, giving joy to others and doing the best that we can. Now I find myself in a situation where, a day, a week, a month goes by in quick succession and I look at the last time I posted something on here and it’s been a good few months.

A lot has happened since then. Both daughters now work in a care home, the same care home on the same shift and what a delight they are to the residents. The eldest has a car which has given them some freedom and the ability to travel about. And it was something special when the eldest stayed overnight a couple of times in her car where we were staying in the camper. That was another beautiful moment that gave me a sense of security that we're on the right road for us.
